Rhinoplasty Before & After: Case #21
41 year old who had complaints of nasal airway obstruction and desired improvement in his nasal contour. Patient underwent rhinoseptoplasty with submucous resection of the part of the septum causing the obstruction. Given the week upper lateral cartilages, he underwent placement of bilateral spreader grafts. He also had submucous resection of the inferior turbinates to help with the airway obstruction. As far as the nasal contour, a dorsal hump reduction was performed thru an open rhinoplasty with shaving of the nasal bone and cartilage as well has reshaping of the nasal tip.

16 year old who had a history of nasal fracture at a young age. She wanted a more balanced look to her face and felt that her nose was too big for her face. She was unhappy with the wide tip and the nasal bump. With parental consent, she underwent open rhinoplasty with inverted “V” incision on the columella. She had osteotomy performed of the nasal bone as well as shaving of the bones to help narrow the nose as well has remove the dorsal hump. She also had reshaping of the nasal tip with tip suturing to help narrow the boxy tip as well as rotate the tip.
