Breast Reconstruction Before & After: Case #1
41 year old, 5’8”, 143 lbs, had undergone right breast partial mastectomy for breast cancer. She had complaint of hollowing of the upper pole of the breasts. She therefore underwent bilateral breast reconstruction with placement of smooth round high profile silicone gel implants, behind the muscle. She had different size implants placed to obtain better symmetry. She also underwent inferior mastopexy.

48 year old, 5’7”, 150 lbs, with a very strong family history of breast cancer opted for prophylactic bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. She underwent bilateral mastectomies, with immediate placement of tissue expanders and alloderm. She subsequently underwent placement of bilateral smooth round high profile silicone gel implants, 800c per side. She eventually underwent bilateral breast fat grafting as well as placement of stratticebiomesh to help with implant rippling. Her final surgery consisted of bilateral nipple reconstruction with placement of alloderm for maintaining the nipple projection. She also underwent bilateral areola tattooing. Bra size remained 38D.

59 year old, 5’5”, 129 lbs, with history of bilateral breast cancer, underwent bilateral nipple sparing mastectomy, through inframammary incisions, with immediate breast reconstruction. At the time of the mastectomy, tissue expanders were placed as well as alloderm. She underwent in office expansions and eventually had placement of bilateral smooth round high profile silicone gel implants, 450 cc per side.

47 year old, 5’9”, 145 lbs, with diagnosis of left breast cancer, decided to undergo bilateral mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction. She had placement of bilateral tissue expanders and alloderm at the time of the mastectomy. She later had placement of bilateral smooth round high profile silicone gel implants, 600 cc per side. For the final stage of her reconstruction, she underwent bilateral nipple and areola reconstruction and placement of alloderm.

47 year old, 5’0”, 130 lbs, with diagnosis of left breast cancer and a strong family history, decided to undergo bilateral mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction. She had placement of bilateral tissue expanders and alloderm at the time of the mastectomy. During the second stage of her reconstruction she underwent placement of bilateral smooth round high profile silicone gel implants, 550 cc per side. She eventually, for the third stage of her breast reconstruction, underwent bilateral nipple reconstruction with placement of alloderm. She later had the areola tattooing performed.

42 year old, 5’4”, 140 lbs, with diagnosis of right breast cancer opted for bilateral nipple sparing mastectomies. She underwent immediate breast reconstruction with placement of tissue expanders and alloderm at the time of the mastectomy. At the time of her second stage reconstruction, she had removal of the tissue expanders with capsulotomy performed and placement of smooth round high profile silicone gel implants, 600 cc. At a later surgery she also underwent fat grafting of both breast upper poles to provide a smooth contour and shape.

46 year old, 5’9”, 135 lbs, with diagnosis of right breast cancer chose to have right mastectomy and left prophylactic mastectomy. She had a history of bilateral breast augmentation in 1986 with resultant deformity. She underwent bilateral nipple sparing mastectomies with capsulectomy and removal of old silicone implants. She had placement of bilateral tissue expanders and alloderm at the time of the mastectomy surgery. She later had removal of the tissue expanders and placement of 600 cc smooth round high profile silicone gel implants. She also had placement of additional alloderm at the time of the second stage surgery for additional soft tissue coverage.

56 year old, 5’, 95 lbs, with diagnosis of left breast cancer, desired bilateral mastectomy. She underwent bilateral nipple sparing mastectomies with immediate reconstruction with placement of tissue expanders and alloderm. At the stage 2 surgery, she had placement of 300 cc smooth round high profile silicone gel implants.

30 year old, 5’2”, 120 lbs, with diagnosis of left breast cancer underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy. She chose to have a bilateral mastectomy even though her genetic testing for BRCA was negative. She had immediate breast reconstruction with tissue expanders and alloderm. She later underwent stage 2 reconstruction with placement of 450 cc high profile smooth round silicone gel implants. At the time of the stage 3 reconstruction, she had creation of bilateral nipples with placement of alloderm for added projection as well as fat grafting to the upper pole of each breast. She later underwent tattooing of the areola.

52 year old, 5’3”, 120 lbs underwent bilateral mastectomy with implant reconstruction several years prior. She had capsular contracture and had revision surgery performed with 3D nipple/areola reconstruction.
